What exactly are "corporate values" and why do we take the trouble to make them public? Well, our values are things that matter to us. Lots of things matter to us at Herman Miller--design, our customers, our products, the communities we do business in. It's hard to make a short list.
Over the last 100 years, we have grown from a small group of employees and owners to a large and inspiring network of suppliers, shareholders, customers, dealers, independent contractors, designers, researchers--a great many people who mean a great deal to us. We want them--and we want you--to know what matters to us.
We believe that we must understand what we want to become and how we want to treat each other before we can decide what we want to do. Our corporate values pertain to what matters most--human relationships and our life as a community. We hope our values make you think. They certainly keep us focused on the right things.
