Herman Miller Introduces Online Library of Resolve Office System Typicals
December 27, 2004   [E-mail Page]  [Print Page]

Herman Miller, Inc., a global leader in office furnishings, workplace consulting, and related services, has introduced an extensive online digital library of workstation typicals and related specification tools, in support of its award-winning Resolve office system. The Resolve Typicals Library is designed to support the quick and efficient planning and installation of the pioneering 120-degree, open-plan system.

Available online at www.HermanMiller.com/resolvetypicals, the Resolve Typicals Library allows users to sort workstation typicals by cost, size, application, and more. Designers, architects, and facilities managers are able to select from among 275 workplace configurations, or use them as starting points for further customization, all of which can be easily downloaded in a single ZIP file and e-mailed. Those receiving the e-mailed files can open the Typicals, add comments, and return or forward them on to others they're working with for further review.

"The Typicals Library can save designers time and money--two things nearly always in short supply--by providing them with clear, concise workplace ideas," explains Herman Miller A&D Sales Development Manager David Pimental. "With a few clicks of the mouse, designers receive pricing, product specs, plan, and 3-D views. They have the freedom to either use the Typicals as presented or modify them to meet their client's specific needs."

"When I'm working on a proposal with a tight deadline, I begin with the Resolve Typicals Library," says Herman Miller Resolve Applications Specialist Petra Robbert. "It's a great starting place for generating ideas, it's easy to use, and it shortens the time I need to design and complete layouts."

Speed clearly is among the Resolve Typicals Library's key benefits. Requests for designs and bid proposals can be addressed quickly, while minimizing much of the tedium--and potential for errors--associated with planning. Designers can instead focus on the client's space solutions including traffic and work patterns, branding, colors/materials/finishes, and other essential project elements.

"The Resolve Typicals Library is a great way to become familiar with 120-degree planning," Robbert adds, "and it actually works quite well as a training tool for staff members to learn the specifics of open plan design."

Adds Todd Thompson, Senior Product Manager for Resolve: "This tool powerfully enhances our ability to present the full range of Resolve's capabilities to our A&D partners and our clients."
