Herman Miller's Teneo Storage Furniture Design Scores 2008 Spark Award

October 06, 2008

Herman Miller, Inc., is celebrating the addition of a Spark award for its recently introduced Teneo storage furniture collection. Designed by Ayse Birsel and Bibi Seck of Birsel+Seck, Teneo was recognized with Spark silver for the Storage Furniture and Systems category.

A result of systemic thinking, Teneo products were designed to create a variety of configurations that produce a holistic solution. The core products include single islands, side-by-side islands, presentation units, wall units, individual storage, and surfaces.

"The Spark awards admit a vast range of entries from a global design community," said Katie Lane, Herman Miller's Director of Filing and Storage. "We're delighted by Teneo's continued success and its recognition from such a distinguished jury of design professionals."

The second annual Spark award winners were evaluated by a panel of 11 jurors, representing a variety of design disciplines and expertise. Entries were judged according to the entry's attention to sustainability, suitability, context, inventiveness, process, universality, and beauty.
