Images FAQ

  • What types of images will I find within the Images application?

Images contains Herman Miller white sweep, environment, and detail product photography and renderings that can be viewed, downloaded, or e-mailed. Low-, medium-, and high-resolution formats are available for downloading; low-resolution files will be e-mailed.

  • How do I find specific product images?

There are two ways to find images within the Images application. One is to perform a Keyword Search. The second is to "Browse by Category" by selecting a product line, application, or designer name. Selecting one will take you to a search results page with the images associated to that product line, application, or product designer.

  • What if I'm only interested in images on a white sweep?

Image results can be filtered by White Sweep, Environment, or Detail photography. All three are selected as the default. If you only want White Sweep images, then deselect Environment and Detail.

  • May I download multiple images at a time?

Yes. Multiple images can be downloaded at one time by checking the boxes on the search results page then selecting "Download Selected." A pop-up screen will then appear where you select the type of resolution you need. If an image is not available in the resolution you select, then the next smaller size resolution will be downloaded. After selecting the resolution, click "Download Zip file."

  • May I download images for commercial or public media use?

As stated in our Terms of Use, please contact Herman Miller's Corporate Communications Department to secure permission: Susan Koole, susan_koole@hermanmiller.com, (616) 654 5709, or Mark Schurman, mark_schurman@hermanmiller.com, (616) 654 5498. For non-North America requests, contact Luke Dawson, luke_dawson@hermanmiller.com, +44 1249 707 469.

  • How large are the low-, medium-, and high-resolution files that are available for downloading?

Approximate sizes: The low-res files are from 30KB-500KB; the medium-res files are from 200KB-3MB; the high-res files are from 500KB-9MB.

  • What is a Zip file, and how do I open one?

Zipped files are files that have been compressed to use the smallest amount of memory possible. Zipped files are easier and more efficient to download, store, and send over the Internet or by e-mail. After downloading,"unzip" the file to have access to the individual items contained within it. To unzip the file, you need to use WinZip, an inexpensive Windows utility, or UltimateZIP, a free, downloadable program. If you don't have WinZip or UltimateZIP installed on your computer, visit www.winzip.com or www.ultimatezip.com.
