    Since casework stays put, you don't want to think about it once you've made your decision. We designed our casework with that in mind. Strong, preassembled storage units and work surfaces fit together and perform efficiently wherever fixed casework is the solution.

  • Design Options

    Casework includes overhead cabinets, storage cabinets, and base cabinets with doors and drawers; can be specified individually or in preconfigured units.

  • Work surfaces have backsplashes on top of cabinets or at sit-down height. Choose laminate or waterproof Corian.

  • Components integrate with our Co/Struc movable modular products, with compatible finishes and materials, so that you can present a coordinated, attractive appearance to patients, staff, and visitors.

  • Functional Choices Meet Your Needs

    Our casework has broad applications. Exam rooms, break areas, utility rooms, nurses' stations (especially med prep and nourishment areas) - there are choices to fit them all.

    Casework comes in a wide variety of popular sizes and configurations. Overhead cabinets are available in several depths and heights. Storage cabinets feature full- or partial-height doors and are available with glass panels. Base cabinets are available with drawers, doors, or a combination.

  • Sink cabinets have cutouts for foot pedals. An ADA sink is also available to hang from an architectural wall. Optional Corian counter tops provide a waterproof solution in sink applications.

    Cabinets come preassembled; exacting construction meets demands for clinical environments. Cabinet shelves adjust in 32 mm increments and lock in place with sturdy, high-impact plastic clips. Heavy-duty, concealed hinges are self-closing and adjustable for proper door fit. Recessed lower base allows vinyl molding to be
    flush with cabinet sides for easier cleaning and a finished appearance.

  • Durable, slim drawer pulls fit the hand nicely and clean easily. Full-extension slides with steel ball bearings allow drawers to open completely and smoothly, for easy access to contents.

    Low maintenance and ownership costs. Strong and durable, made of heavy-duty materials; space efficient; easy to clean. Casework comes with a full 5-year, 3-shift warranty that far exceeds the industry standard.

  • Earth-Friendly

    Casework is made of 68% recycled materials and is up to 27% recyclable at the end of its useful life.

    Wood content in work surface substrates is more than 90% reclaimed wood, as certified by Scientific Certification Systems. This wood content is made primarily of sawdust generated by other wood process operations.

  • Steel components are 100% recyclable. Die-cast aluminum components are made from 100% recycled material and are 100% recyclable. Most metal components have a powder-coat paint finish that emits negligible volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

    Plastic components are identified with an ASTM recycling code whenever possible, to aid in returning these materials to the recycling stream.

Design Story

  • Herman Miller Casework derives from the Robert Propst blueprint for healthcare applications. Propst designed Action Office, the world's first open-plan office furniture system. When he brought his thinking about modularity, efficiency, and process improvement to healthcare applications, he created the model of a coherent system of compatible components designed to efficiently store and transport medical supplies and materials.

    Our Casework includes a series of overhead cabinets, storage cabinets, base units, and work surfaces with backsplashes. Matching finishes and interchangeable components allow our casework system to complement and integrate with our movable modular product offering in virtually any healthcare setting.
