This year we added three new IRT groups, two of them in our international offices. That brings our total to ten IRTs around the world with over 170 members.

We always knew the last 10 percent would be the hardest. This year we reached an 88 percent reduction of our overall footprint, just missing out on our target of a 92 percent overall reduction from our baseline. Our goal for 2020 is still 0—yes, that's right, 0—operational footprint and we're confident we'll get there.

This year our fuel-savings initiatives rolled up to more than 430,000 car-miles avoided due to biking or car-pooling and more than $111,000 reimbursed to employees for the purchase of bicycles or fuel-efficient vehicles.

We take the safety of our employees seriously. We continued to have an injury rate nearly half of our industry average. Zero injuries is the ultimate goal.

For the fourteenth year, Herman Miller and the architecture and design community volunteered in "We Care"—a day of creativity and craft-making for underprivileged children in 25 cities across the U.S. and Canada.
