Bath Rugby Community Foundation
In 2011 we teamed up with Bath Rugby in the U.K. as official corporate partners. We are now supporting (along with the team itself) the Bath Rugby Community Foundation in its locally focused endeavors across a wide variety of projects. The Foundation has won awards at a national level and been recognized by Parliament. We collaborate on the Bath Rugby Girls’ Development program, an ongoing and hugely popular initiative that encourages girls to participate in rugby from an early age. We assist Bath Rugby with their Inclusive After School Clubs, aimed at ensuring physical development and participation in team sports for children with special educational needs.
Helping Educate the Next Generation
As part of the Next Generation Workforce Plan, the Herman Miller Academy Program began in January 2012. The Academy allows a group of students in West Michigan to see and experience different career opportunities in manufacturing. More than 80 Herman Miller employees volunteer as presenters and mentors.
Supplier Diversity
We have always worked to build a strong and diverse supplier network. Supplier sourcing and qualification, Tier 2 reporting, mentoring, community and business outreach, and training and education are among the strategies we use to strengthen our supplier diversity efforts.
Since 1990 Herman Miller’s supplier diversity program has helped grow our business and build a better community. Our suppliers are true partners in our service to customers, search for sustainable practices, and the co-creation of real innovation and problem-solving products.
