December 18, 2012

Herman Miller, Inc., and its subsidiaries have again been named a preferred source for commercial furnishings by architectural and design professionals, as surveyed in Contract Magazine’s 2012 Brand Report Awareness Survey.

Based on unaided responses, Herman Miller was identified as the top choice in Ergonomic Seating, while subsidiary Nemschoff and Herman Miller Healthcare were named the first and third most cited brands respectively for Healthcare Furnishings. Overall, the company and its family of brands ranked among the top three most preferred brands in eight furniture categories, including Furniture Systems, Computer Support, Filing & Storage, Guest & Occasional Seating, Conference Tables, and Education Solutions.

The 2012 survey also asked design professionals, “When thinking about brands that inspire you to create your best commercial design solutions, what are the top three companies that come to mind?” Herman Miller was the most often cited, confirming its industry-leading position earned through more than eight decades of pioneering design that has changed the way the world lives and works.

Contract magazine’s Brand Report is an independent survey using a random sample of architecture and design professionals. Respondents are asked to identify their top three preferred manufacturers when purchasing or recommending products in each of 32 categories. More than 350 respondents participated in the survey conducted by Aspen Media & Market Research.
