Herman Miller's Keyboard Supports Achieve Cradle to Cradle Gold

June 09, 2009

Herman Miller, Inc., has achieved McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) Cradle to Cradle Gold certification for two fully adjustable keyboard supports from The Be Collection accessories line. The keyboard supports will be displayed during the NeoCon World's Trade Fair exhibition from June 15-17, 2009, in the Herman Miller National Design Center at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago.

The keyboard supports are the first in the industry to receive MBDC Gold certification, a result of the company's strict Design for the Environment criteria for all new and existing products.

"Our Design for the Environment protocol emphasizes the use of recycled content, recyclability and ease of disassembly, which enables us to minimize the environmental impact of our products and contribute to a better world," said Robyn Hofmeyer, General Manager, Accessories. "The MBDC Gold certification of these keyboard supports reflects our commitment to sustainable design across all product lines."

The Gold certified keyboard supports are available in 100 percent recyclable aluminum or high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

The list price begins at $337 and both products carry a 12-year warranty.

Introduced in 2007, The Be Collection accessories line includes a comprehensive portfolio of products that support unique work styles and individual preferences for comfort, organization, and technology support.
