Convia Honored for Innovation, Energy Savings at Greenbuild
as a BuildingGreen Top Product of the Year
Convia/A Herman Miller Company's energy management platform has been named by the editors of Environmental Building News and GreenSpec as a BuildingGreen Top-10 Product for 2009. The company was honored with the award today at the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC's) annual Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Phoenix.
Now in its eighth year, the award competition recognizes the most innovative and exciting green building products added to the GreenSpec Directory, the leading national directory of green building products, or covered in Environmental Building News in 2009. The Convia platform, which was featured in Environmental Building News' July issue, was chosen from hundreds of products. Its energy conservation benefits and savings can help organizations qualify for funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and contribute toward LEED certification.
"More than ever, organizations need solutions that will not only allow them to meet energy goals, but also to maintain and exceed them," said Randy Storch, president of Convia. "This award is proof of Convia's continued commitment to helping its customers sustain their energy management strategies, while achieving exceptional savings and results."
Recently selected as the lighting control provider for pre-built offices as part of the multi-million dollar Empire State Building retrofit project, Convia allows for the integrated control and monitoring of plug load, lighting, HVAC/thermostat set points from a simple and intelligent controls and management platform. With control and monitoring of office plug loads provided through its partnership with Wiremold/Legrand, the "Convia-enabled" technology provides for maximum space flexibility and effective energy management from everything from the building infrastructure to the individual workstation. This whole-building level of control enables a facility to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the people and organizations who occupy it for ongoing performance optimization.
