<description>I read a very disturbing 2009 statistic that one in 50 American children was homeless. This includes families that are living with relatives temporarily because they can&#039;t afford housing and kids who are in group homes. However, there&#039;s also a very high number of kids living out of cars or in shelters. These children are often barely served at all by the school system because their housing situation makes enrollment and attendance complicated. It&#039;s great to see that people are out there making sure these kids get fed intellectually along with the great volunteer organizations that make sure they get fed physically.
