Tina July 6, 2011 My coworker, let's call him Sam, has a giant gummy bear from his ginelrifrd. My other coworker, Rosie, and I decided to take the gummy bear, but Sam never noticed. We realized we needed to up our game; Rosie decided we should send a ransom note. We emailed Sam from a new email with the attached picture. Please excuse the misspelling, we were getting into character. clearly. My cubicle is right next to Sam's so I heard when he opened the email and went, Waaaaaa?! Priceless.

A flexible "both/and" approach does usually work better than a strict "either/or" mindset when it comes to planning work environments. The whole idea that people are interchangeable units is part of what led to cubicles being so maligned in the first place.

I do like Herman Miller's innovative cube substitutes like the Resolve collection. I blogged about that system earlier this week at: http://www.sandiegocubicles.com/blog/
