My early memories of this place go back to my childhood. I grew up in Waukazoo, and spent many days exploring Gold's Point. Fishing inside the boathouse, hanging around the gazebo, playing hide and seek. Oh, if those old cement walls could talk !! I can't remember how many times that old caretaker didn't chase all us kids out of there. But Mrs. Gold was very nice especially at Halloween. Thats if you were brave enough to visit the mansion after dark. I have watched all the changes to the property, but will always remember the the great times growing up next to such a wonderful place.

I remember the first time I visited Marigold Lodge, My Granfather Harold Overweg's retirement party after 41 years of service. My Sister and I came and my parents said kids were not allowed at these events so we were to be on our best behavior. Loved the Pianobox in the "lounge" with the leather couches and wood walls,
