Not much as the design speaks for itself - just add a small pillow in an Eames fabric for extra color and punch - or maybe just the Eames bird motif :)

But if it tigers a trend of "reclaimed" chairs that someone will desecrate for profit: no way Jose ! Don't let this become the next " cool thing "

Respects this masterpieces of human design

I would turn the seating surface into an operable "lite-brite"surface. Therefore providing another layer of "mass-customization".

I would paint it turquoise (the color for ovarian cancer awareness) and auction it off in an effort to raise money for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. My mother died from ovarian cancer after being misdiagnosed 3 times ... if my chair could save one life, it would be a tremendous accomplishment.

Decorating an Eames would be like decorating the Mona Lisa!

If I had one it would get treated just like the Mona Lisa too, in that you can look at it all you want, but don't sit on it.

While I agree with Nick in the perfection of the Eames Chair, in the spirit of the contest I would simply cover it in the large dot pattern and upholsterhe seat in the same. You could enhance Eames with Eames.

Frankly, I would be unable to "decorate" an Eames chair. They are absolutely perfect as they were designed.

The only exception I could possibly make for supporting the "decorating" of a product of any artist or designer would be with the endorsement of the artist or designer.
