Ideal Live/Work Space: What is Yours?

By

We’ve been running our Ideal Live/Work Space for almost a year and it’s been fascinating to see what sort of spaces people wished they worked in. Now it’s your turn. Tell us about your ideal space. Is it in a cabin in the woods? A room in your home dedicated just to work? Or are you inspired by Tadao Ando’s library, pictured above,  like Nikita Pashenkov and Elise Co?

Philosopher Alain de Botton‘s desk at  Heathrow.

Writer and illustrator Dallas Clayton‘s home office can fly to space and tackle the ocean.

While Unplggd editor Gregory Han wished for a spot among the trees. He chose Peter Daniel Frazier’s The Cube (above).

Ive dreamt of a house that is perched on a cliff by a deep ravine and waterfall. It is built in a post and beam style with a. It is ecclectic but simple and cozy; the styles are Japanese and log cabin mixed in with Persian carpets and African wood.
The forest is visible and transparent in places as windows to the exterior and hopefully a tree trunk and a rock or two is built around and in it. Deep window sills and a patio that is defiant of the cliff. The space is compartmentalized but open and connected. It feels like air and earth together and makes me feel very productive and peaceful and yet grounded. I might even have an oyster room where the finishes gleam… An element of surprise. :) . So where is this location is the next question, and when am I going to do it?! ;)

The tree office is one of my favorites. How could you work there and not be inspired with creativity?

I started a blog on similar topic just over a year ago and Lifework has been a welcome resource – far better reach, interesting topics.
