Inspiration: Eames Molded Plastic Chairs in the Office

Whether it’s at your desk, serving as a side chair, or poised for meetings around a work table (such as the Magis Tavolo XZ3), an Eames molded plastic chair from Herman Miller adds color, contour, and authentic design to any home office. Brighten your workspace with the naturally supportive seating in your choice of colors, bases, and shell style—and get inspired by some of the offices we’ve featured on Lifework that do the same.

Like the office of Zak and Jason, co-founders of Juliet Zulu (top photo), the home office of DailyCandy Lead Designer Audria Brumberg uses a white Eames Molded Plastic Armchair with Wire Base at her desktop.
John Kim (formerly of Herman Miller) gets to work at a table surrounded by side chairs with wire bases in red.

White again, but this time in a side chair with a wire base in the workspace of Mark Giglio, an Oakland-based freelance graphic designer.

Chroma Lab’s Alicia Cornwell and Tony Bevilacqua use a multitasking black Eames Molded Plastic Side Chair with 4-leg Base as a desk chair and a side chair (and we even spotted a red one, too).

The former home office of Manhattan Nest’s Daniel Kanter features a vintage side chair he found in Brooklyn and lovingly rehabbed himself. Want to make it easier? Build your own classic by choosing its color, base, and shell style. Get started here.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a huge fan of HM, including the Eames Moulded Chairs.
My concern, chairs such as these are not adjustable and are therefore not really suitable for workstation-based work.
They are fine for short meetings, or as side chairs for visitors, but could not provide sufficient support in order to address ergonomic demands of extended work-station based work.
