Architect Morris Adjmi, restaurateur Andrew Tarlow, and designer Stefanie Brechbuehler of Workstead will discuss the changing face of the borough of Brooklyn. The minds behind the Wythe, the first boutique hotel the Brooklyn side of the East River, examine the gentrification of the neighborhood of Williamsburg and how it has paved the way for a new breed of design-centric high-end developments in Brooklyn. <em>6:30 &#8211; 8:30pm at Wythe Hotel, 80 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn. <em>Dwell </em>&amp;<em> New York Magazine’s City Modern</em> <a href="http://dht.dwell.com/tours/city-modern-manhattan-home-tour" target="_blank">Home Tours</a> will take you behind the doors of ten private modern homes in Manhattan and Brooklyn (such as the <a href="http://dht.dwell.com/homes/east-7th-street-residence" target="_blank">Flowerbox Duplex</a> in Manhattan&#8217;s East Village, above, in a photo by <a href="http://dht.dwell.com/homes/east-7th-street-residence" target="_blank">Elizabeth Felicella</a>). <em>Homes will be open to self-tour 10am &#8211; 4pm. <p><strong>The Noguchi Museum Curator’s Tour</strong><br />
At <a href="http://www.hermanmiller.com/lifework/museum-visit-noguchi-museum/" target="_blank">this Queens museum</a> dedicated to the work of artist Isamu Noguchi (designer of the <a href="http://store.hermanmiller.com/Products/Noguchi-Table" target="_blank">Noguchi Table</a>), associate curator Matthew Kirsch will lead a gallery discussion of <em><a href="http://www.noguchi.org/programs/exhibitions/hammer-chisel-drill-noguchis-studio-practice" target="_blank">Hammer Chisel, Drill: Noguchi’s Studio Practice</a> </em>and provide insights into Noguchi’s working process as seen through tools, photographs, film footage, and sculpture. <em>3pm,  9-01 33rd Road, Long Island City. The first <em>Designers &amp; Books Fair</em> will include approximately 35 U.S. and European design book publishers and booksellers displaying and selling new and backlist titles. You&#8217;ll also find rare and out-of-print book dealers; demonstrations of book arts, including calligraphy, letterpress printing, and bookbinding; and book signings.
