What does his bulletin board look like? Clearly Danny has a lot on his plate and a single board couldn’t come close to containing all that he’s working on – so he installed three large burlap-covered boards in the corner of the room and created an inspiration wall. He used homasote, an environmentally-friendly material that is made from recyclable materials.

It’s a slow Monday over here so we are definitely in need of inspiration (and coffee!). With that in mind I’ve found a few office pin-up boards that I think you will like. Above is an interesting take on the traditional board. Photographer Jennifer Causey has employed simple string and bulldog clips for her home work space. The image below is from Russian illustrator Irina Troitskaya. Again no board necessary. And the image at the bottom is a board covered in a coffee sack – nice texture. Forget about a board. Why not just use the wall? One of the reasons this works so well is there’s a strict order to it. Her blog is I Heart Chivalry and if you check it out today you’ll see Sheila has picked up on the Google television ad – one of the best Superbowl ads from yesterdays game. I have to admit it – I watch for the ads not the sport. I loved the e-trade ads with the babies. Cheap shot, I know, but they are funny. And, much to the horror of the people watching with us, the Dove for Men ad made me teary. Which one was your favourite?

Here’s our Monday morning bulletin board. The coolest thing about this – besides its intrinsic beauty – is that you can go to Flickr and see how it has changed over time. I’m afraid I can’t give you a whole lot of information about the creator of this board. His profile on Flickr is spare and I haven’t heard back from him yet. I do know he is an artist and lives in Prague. I’ll keep you updated.

Here’s the thing, if you’re like me, Monday morning isn’t always the best morning of the week. Sometimes, just sometimes, it would be nice to stay in bed, drink coffee and read the papers. So each Monday – for your benefit and mine – I’m going to find some inspiration from the bulletin boards posted all over the net. This morning I came across Aunty Cookie – a funny blog from Australian designer, Shannon Lamden. I love the ordered chaos.

A bulletin board or pinboard is a great way to get organized and inspired. On a recent trip to IKEA I picked up three simple cork boards that will hold all the paper paraphernalia that usually ends up cluttering my desk. Silke Stoddard, a deputy editor at Martha Stewart Living, posted her inspiring home office board – I don’t think mine will be quite as pretty!  If you’re looking for a board that’s a bit more itneresting than the IKEA ones try Moore Magnets. They cover cork and magnet boards with gorgeous fabric (they also covers pins and magnets so everything matches).
