ICFF is part of New York Design Week – a whole 7 days devoted to all things design. NoHo Design District blossomed this year, sprouting up just north of SoHo (hence the name!). Very convenient for feet made weary from a long morning at the Javits Centre.
Future Perfect on Great Jones has some beautiful work including new lights from Lindsey Adelman. Look out for an interview in the next week or two highlighting Lindsey’s Brooklyn workspace.

And, of course, you can’t ‘do’ SoHo without stopping in at Moss Gallery. Murray Moss never disappoints. His show this year is called Poetic License and includes some very cool pieces by Maarten Baas – including a charred Eames molded plywood splint. I asked about the splint and it sold for $38,000. It’s part of Baas’ coveted “Where there’s smoke…” series.

The Herman Miller team is gathering in New York City today in preparation for the launch of ICFF tomorrow. Look out for us at the Herman Miller stand (booth 1624). I’ll be blogging live so feel free to come over and say hello! Also look out for the painted Eames molded plywood chairs on display in the Barneys‘ windows on Madison and 61st. They’ve been re-imagined by street artists as part of the Operation Design auction – you can buy them online on EBAY.
