Playlist: Artist Amy Ruppel

Amy Ruppel started out putting a bird on it (yes, in Portland), but she’s been spreading her wingspan ever since. Even if you’ve never attended one of her many exhibitions, there’s a good chance you’ve seen her work already. Her prolific creativity can be seen in every which way — from paintings, prints, and wall adhesives, to snowboards, sneakers, and electronics. Recently, when not working in paint and pixels, Amy has branched out into music, playing drums and providing vocals with her friend and fellow artist Justin Potts. Born and raised Detroiter Antonio “Shades” Agee has been know to hit a wall or two. In fact, as a graffiti artist he’s hit pretty much every kind of surface you can imagine, and then some you might not imagine. Now a 15-year arts veteran, his career has taken him everywhere from the streets to galleries to corporations, internationally.
