</a>What sounds fill the workspace shared by Stanley Wilson and Sophie Gollop of <a href="http://www.urbancottageindustries.co.uk/">Urban Cottage Industries</a>? Find out what these designers, manufacturers, and suppliers of vintage industrial lighting have playing on repeat in their headquarters in Mytholmroyd, England.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.hermanmiller.com/lifework/wp-content/uploads/Stanley-Wilson-Sophie-Gollop-34.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-12120" title="Stanley Wilson &amp; Sophie Gollop-34" src="http://www.hermanmiller.com/lifework/wp-content/uploads/Stanley-Wilson-Sophie-Gollop-34.jpg" alt="" width="480" height="319" /><br />
</a><strong>What do you listen to while you work? </strong>We fight between <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/">Radio 4</a> (Stan) and music (Sophie). Sophie is proletarian. It&#8217;s class war—all day, every day.</p>
<p><span id="more-12115"></span><strong>How do you listen? </strong>Through a laptop running (via cable) to a Citronic 2000W PA power amp and <a href="http://www.peavey.com/">Peavey</a> 15&#8243; cabs.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.hermanmiller.com/lifework/wp-content/uploads/urbancottageindustries.posterous.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-12123" title="urbancottageindustries.posterous" src="http://www.hermanmiller.com/lifework/wp-content/uploads/urbancottageindustries.posterous.jpg" alt="" width="480" height="768" /><br />
</a><strong>Do you have any favorite music websites/providers? </strong>The <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio">BBC iPlayer</a> is an outstanding example why public ownership of the means of production, done well, works best.</p>
<p><strong>Where do you find music recommendations? Who influences your musical taste? </strong>We are forever coercing each other into liking new things.</p>
<p><strong>Does music influence your work? </strong>Music is part of who we are; it influences everything. Look at anything we&#8217;ve ever made and you’ll see the music in it.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.hermanmiller.com/lifework/wp-content/uploads/urbancottageindustries.posterous-1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-12124" title="urbancottageindustries.posterous-1" src="http://www.hermanmiller.com/lifework/wp-content/uploads/urbancottageindustries.posterous-1.jpg" alt="" width="480" height="717" /><br />
</a><strong>If your work was a song or a musician, what or who would it be? </strong>Stan was a musician before he did this. The song <a href="http://vimeo.com/35139251">“China (Acoustic)”</a> [in the music mix below] was his work.</p>
