1. Four – as in four-legged friends. It takes a lot to get me to linger on a pet’s site so this wonderfully designed doggy destination was a surprise. Check out their post on Kuntzel+Deygas who painted the Eames chair below.


2. Designer Alvin Aronson‘s site for this cool prototype of a perfectly white digital clock.


3. Design Milk for their post on this pencil holder from Giha Woo.


4. Swissmiss for her post on Instagram – an obsession I share. It’s a lithe little bit of social media perfect for capturing just about everything and now it looks like the pics can be accessed more easily, making it an even better work tool.

5. Cool Hunting for the story on all-natural cleaning porducts. Perfect for getting that desktop sparkling.

6. Wallpaper magazine for their lovely “Letter from Japan” architecture update. Below – House in Seya, Kanagawa, by Suppose Design Office.

10. Field Notes new red notebooks. I use these little notebooks in the car and always have one on hand in my purse. Nicely designed, small and light weight.

1. CondeElevator on Twitter. I know it’s shallow but these tweets makes me laugh. This person publishes comments they overhear in the Conde Nast elevator – mostly snippets from Vogue employees.

2. App.Itize.Us is a great spot to find new apps.I love the Crouwelclock by Dutch designer Wim Crouwel (below). Thanks to Lifework reader Marc for the tip.


3. Kitka for their post on designer David Ericcson. Great workspace.

4. Design Skool for their coverage of Estudio Manus (office below).


5. Better Living Through Design because they’ve got a great eye for interiors and homewares. I really like the desk set by Mateo Ilasco.

2. JTNimoy for his amazing programs – most recently he worked on Tron. But you’ve seen his design elsewhere, I promise. Check out his cool graffiti program here. Just heard Josh speak at a Creative Mornings hosted by Media Temple. Cool guy.

3. Chrome Experiments because we all need a break from our work now and then. I’m fascinated by the sketch program. Which one takes your fancy?

4. Workalicious for its standing desk post. More on standing desks from us in a few months. There’s definitely a buzz around this idea.

5. Ecosalon for their year in vintage post. Fascinating to see what came out in 1946.

6.. Obsessilicious for its mid-century aesthetic and obvious good taste!

Where we’ve been this week…

1. Human Scribbles Step into the world of this New York architect and you’ll be thinking about sunflower seeds, cathedrals, Stephen Hawkings and goldfish and the death of Sony’s Walkman. Where to start: Each post is it’s own interesting little essay. Stop at a pic that grabs you and dive in.

2. Elle Decor I  know we’ve mentioned Elle before but it is a great resource and they’ve just posted their excellent renovation issue. Where to start: I love this pale purple bedroom and there way they’ve incorporated a desk into the space.

3. The Well Appointed House This blog takes you deep into the land of decorating. Lots and lots of pretty. Where to start: A post on home office supplies.

4. Inside Out Blog An Australian interiors magazine with a lot of heart. They cover warm modern homes that you could easily imagine yourself living in. Where to start: Their work desk series. We’ve mentioned it once before but they’ve since added a bunch more work spaces.

5. Visual Notes Let’s end of a nice easy note (I’ve had a cold all week and eye candy is what I seem to be drawn to right now – not too much reading!) This is a blog from Berlin-based design student with a nice eye for clean-lined spaces, art and homewares. Where to start: Click on her home tours tag for a great collection of interiors. Lots of inspiration for the home office.
