Wired Magazine’s Steven Levy’s Home Office Makeover

By

Check out thisĀ office makeover. Erin Doland from Unclutterer took on the job to reorganize Levy’s home office in the Berkshires. And it’s a great success – as is the way Wired has presented the story. They are graphic design geniuses over at that magazine! We interviewed Erin back in February and you can see her office here.

hmm. looks like he just cleaned up?

Click through to the Wired story and you’ll see what Erin has done. Small clever things like velcro up all the wires to keep them out of site.

Way to pull back on that second shot, too, so it looks even more tidy and spacious. Unintentional? Probably not. ;)

I agree, it mostly just looks like someone did a good cleanup. Wire bundling, yay, but not recommended for mixed wiring anyway.

So all I have to do is tidy up?!

good work for an “unclutterer” but not sure it’s what designers appreciate, and I’m not sure why it made the Herman Miller editorial cuts – there are much more inspiring ways to use this room.

I liked the way it wasn’t a huge overhaul – that with a few small tweaks you can make a big difference to your spce. And I related to the clutter! So many of the offices I’m sent are picture perfect and this one felt real.

I way prefer the way it was before – way cooler (and I’m a tidy guy). Instead of nice old metal file cabinets we get.. cheap plastic mobile drawers? = downgrade. Also the chair/desk ergonomics really suck in both cases.. Very un-HM IMHO. Sorry.
