Product Story
Fluid movement and easy adjustments for active workers. Reaction is a lively, responsive office chair at a great price.
Human-centered Design
Reaction provides consistent support and easy motion. The tilt mechanism synchronizes the seat and back movement, so that you can recline and move forward again easily. You're fully supported at any point in the wide recline range, and the five-position Recline Selector limits the range of recline to ensure comfort and proper task support. A full complement of adjustments lets you fine-tune the chair to fit, and if you need a quick reminder, you can find the adjustment information on a permanent pull-out instruction card in the seat pan.
Comfort Across the Board
Reaction was designed to fit most of the population. The generous contours of the seat and back and cantilevered arm supports let most people sit comfortably in the chair. It also fits many workplace applications--computer work, general office tasks, meetings.
Space and Bottom-line Efficiency
While the Reaction chair's seat and back contours are larger than on comparable chairs, the overall footprint isn't. Small spaces? This chair fits right in. And its affordable price makes Reaction a smart choice.
A Versatile Look
Every Reaction chair comes with a fully upholstered back. You can simply change the seat back slipcover to create a whole new look.
Earth-friendly
The Reaction chair is up to 75% recyclable at the end of its useful life. All die-cast aluminum components are made entirely from recycled materials and are 100% recyclable. Steel components are also 100% recyclable.
With more than 75 design patents to his credit, Reaction designer Jerome Caruso takes a hands-on approach and enjoys doing it all - concepts, drawings, prototypes, and engineering. The bigger the challenge, the more fun it is to work out the solution," he says. He's especially intrigued with chairs and vividly recalls the challenge of the high-performance, award-winning Reaction chair, which he designed with his son, Steven.
"Charles Eames felt that it was important to bring value to as many people as possible," said Caruso. "I agree with him, and I believe that the Reaction chair does that."
