Business in the Appmosphere
Much like the years leading up to it, 2012 was a monumental year for mobile growth, particularly for the economy of mobile applications. According to research conducted by Intuit, half of small businesses said it would be very difficult to survive without mobile apps, a 31 percent increase from 2011.
This increase can largely be attributed to the power of mobile apps to help businesses communicate, share, and even recruit new talent. Here are a few key facts Intuit put together in this useful infographic:
- Nearly two-thirds of small businesses are using tablets, up 10 percent from 2011.
- The fastest adopters of tablets have been small companies under two years old.
- The biggest reason small businesses use apps is to save time.
- 1.23 million small businesses are saving more than 725 million employee hours every year through apps.
How is your company accommodating its mobile workers and the apps they're using? How does your business plan on adapting as they do? The best response is to not just account for your workers' technology, but also their coming-and-going nature. A good place to start is our Small and Medium Business catalog.
