Herman Miller Family of Brands Receives Multiple Awards at NeoCon 2016

At NeoCon 2016, Herman Miller, Geiger, and Nemschoff present purposeful variety, meaningful surroundings, and unique character, supported by an array of new product introductions from a cast of international designers. Beyond the positive response from clients and the design community, new product introductions from all three brands have been honored during NeoCon, some receiving multiple awards.

Geiger Rhythm by EOOS for Geiger received the Best of NeoCon award for casegoods, and the Ava Recliner by 5d Studio for Nemschoff was honored with the Best of NeoCon award for healthcare patient seating. The Best of NeoCon awards are presented by Contract and selected by a jury of interior designers, architects, and facilities executives, most of whom are members of either IIDA or IFMA.

New introductions from Herman Miller and Nemschoff were also honored with HiP awards from Interior Design. Nemschoff’s Ava Recliner was recognized for Health & Wellness Furniture. Spot Stools by Michael Anastassiades for the Herman Miller Collection were honored in the Hospitality Seating category, and Herman Miller’s Plex, designed by Sam Hecht and Kim Colin, received the HiP award for Workplace Lounge Seating. Now in its third year, Interior Design’s HiP Awards honor commercial industry pioneers and notable new products.

Hecht and Colin’s Plex, a thoughtful new modular lounge furniture collection for Herman Miller, was also one of just 35 products to receive a #MetropolisLikes award, given by the editors of Metropolis to recognize companies and products that further the conversation about design.

About The Herman Miller Collection
In 1948, George Nelson created the first Herman Miller Collection, with the goal of "a permanent collection designed to meet fully the requirements for modern living.”  He understood that the Collection would evolve as human behavior changed and new materials and manufacturing technologies emerged. Today’s modern living embraces the blending of life and work, with greater appreciation for contemporary design and mobile and ubiquitous technologies offering new freedom of choice in where and how people express their lifestyles and pursue their professions. The Herman Miller Collection welcomes and enriches this new era, as Herman Miller endeavors to realize Nelson’s vision for the modern home, office, and public spaces.
