Products by Jaime Hayon

Jaime Hayon brings his playful spirit, creative mind, and passion for preserving bespoke techniques, from ceramics to metalworking, to every project he takes on. Whether designing a hotel interior, a pair of shoes, or a piece of furniture, Hayon pushes the boundaries of both materiality and functionality.

“I like to mix things up and see how they turn out,” says Hayon, who was born in Madrid in 1974. “Sometimes you make mistakes, but other times you create something truly extraordinary. My work is over the top, but it has coherence.”

Since the year 2000, Hayon has worked with a wide range of clients in the furniture, lighting, art, and hospitality industries, designing everything from retail environments to art installations, and from Swiss timepieces to the sculptural and stackable Magis Milà Chair. Unifying such a diverse body of work are elements of dreamscape surrealism, references to Spanish folklore, and Hayon’s obsessions with the comical and fantastical.

“My work is over the top, but it has coherence.”

“When I make objects that come completely from within me and don’t use too many references, they’re always better received,” Hayon says. “With so many ‘creative’ artists around these days, you have to be a little special, a little individual. You have to do it your way.”
