Herman Miller for Healthcare will demonstrate the ease of electrical reconfiguration with Convia Programmable Infrastructure at the annual International Health Facility Planning, Design and Construction Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Florida, March 10-13, 2008.
The system will be displayed by Herman Miller for Healthcare in Booth #111 at the Gaylord Palms Hotel and Convention Center.
The signature product from Convia / A Herman Miller Company is an electrical infrastructure that replaces the traditional "pipe and wire" approach to delivering and managing electric power in a space. It allows for the complete virtual rewiring of an entire floor or building in just minutes. Additionally, it has an embedded lighting control, enabling sophisticated energy savings strategies to be implemented in a space at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods.
"Convia's ability to transform the delivery of electrical power and data within a space, and reduce energy usage, fits well with the increase of sustainability initiatives being implemented by healthcare facilities around the country," says Roger Call, director of A&D, Herman Miller for Healthcare. "It's also easy to reconfigure, which will resound with facility managers seeking to create flexible spaces with less time and expense."
Together with Convia, the company will exhibit its Resolve nurses' station, which was selected for Washington Hospital Center's ER One project, and Baker height-adjustable work surfaces. Ergonomic seating options, including Celle, Mirra and the Aeron work stool, will complete the display.
The 2008 International Health Facility Planning, Design and Construction Conference and Exhibition is sponsored by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA), in conjunction with the American Institute of Architects Academy of Architecture for Health (AIA/AAH).
