For the Office or Living Area
Hinged doors. The two top surfaces open for access to versatile storage compartments.

Soft surface. Seating for guests in the office or the living room; wool/polyester blend upholstery in chocolate, chili, or celery.

Under the soft surface. For the office, high-density hanging file storage for letter-, legal-, or A4-size folders; for the home, a place to store blankets and linen.

Hard surface. Supports equipment and provides additional work surface; also a hospitality surface that holds hors d'oeuvres and drinks.

Under the hard surface. A removable organizer tray for any small items, from pens to TV remotes.

Two drawers. Accommodate larger office supplies, clothing, DVDs, and much more.
Design Story

BluDot, the Minneapolis-based furniture design firm, says its goal is to bring good design to as many people as possible--which means creating products that are useful, affordable, and desirable. BluDot's design of the Cognita storage bench fits that criteria by taking a balanced approach, mixing beauty and practicality.

While the bench was designed to be a residential piece for use anywhere in the home, it's highly functional for the office. It contains file storage without looking like it. At the same time, the bench handles residential needs, including linen storage and hospitality. Its design is modern, yet the bench complements classics from the Eameses, Nelson, and many others. And though the look is elegant, BluDot designed Cognita to be a subtle presence that doesn't draw too much attention to itself.
