As an architect and a designer of interiors and furniture, Lawrence Peabody was recognized for his achievements and appreciated for his pragmatic, direct, and humble nature.

He understood the role that craftsmanship plays in creating aesthetics that capture our attention and endure the tests of time.

After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Peabody went on to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. This catalyzed the distinctive Scandinavian influence evident in many of his designs including seating, benches, and tables for healthcare environments. He died in 2002.
